Default new gears am I missing something

I just got my 3:42's and I will be getting rid of my 2:73 I was just wanting to know what I should expect in the time slip area. With 2:73 I was going at a 13.5x

1/2 a sec with bolt ons id imagine, are you reusing the carrier? Did you get 3.73's for a 2 series?

Get a 3 series posi like Auburn, eaton or Zexel. The one you have now w/ your 2.73 will not work. 2.73 stock rear is 2 series carrier while 3.42 is a 3 series.

those are for a series 3 carrier, you have a series 2 carrier, so your going to need a ring gear spacer and longer ring gear bolts, I bought one off ebay it was pretty nice, I just took a brake lathe stone to make sure it was totally flat on both sides before i installed it

most mail order speed shops summit,jegs ect carry these spacers.the difference is the offset of the carrier to make up for the thickness of the gear.have the gears been shipped out if not ask the seller if they have a set for the 32carrier.i went from 273s to 373s .let me tell you its like the difference from daylight to dark.

I was told, it is not recommended to put a ring gear spacer to adapt 2 series carrier w/ 3 series gear. Why? It will be a weak point of your rear. 10 bolt is known to be weak already, making it weaker is worse.

Its not the steel that is going to make it weaker... its putting the ring gear spacer. If you're going to do something, do it right... Just swap it w/ either both 2 series carrier posi and gear or 3 series posi and gear.

i've run a ring gear spacer in mine for the last 3 years and 50+ passes down the track, My car doesnt make much power and its an auto, but its worked fine for me, my car only pulls 1.9 short times tho

I bought them on e bay so I wont be able to do that. Since I am going to go ahead and switch to a 3 ser. is there a stronger or better posi unit I should look at?
