Looks like you've answered your own question. You say want 4.10s and a posi, then ask "What should I do?". I say, buy 4.10s and a posi. Seriously, I wouldn't go with a locker, its miserable, had one in the Moser 9" in my 2000 Z28, and it was absolutely horrific. Terrible noise, clunking, notchy feeling, etc. I would get an Auburn or Eaton posi, and 4.10s, and go to town. Hope this answers your questions, Shawn

go with a positraction unit. auburn gear positraction works pretty well (most people don't like them because they aren't rebuildable) and the eaton style positractions work pretty good too. the detroit true trac is a decent setup also but is more $.

4.10 gears work pretty well with 27-30" tires , any smaller i would go with 3.73's .

I wish I had a SWB 2WD 5.3, 4.10s will probably rock!
