If I upgrade to a 4.10, won't my car be more subjectable to wheel spin?
don't flame me if this is a stupid question: i would like to get out of the hole quicker but won't 4.10's jus spin my tires? i have a stock 10 bolt with 315 nitto 555r's in the rear, i'll be saving up for a 12 bolt next year

When you shove stickies on there you probably need to replace it with a 12-bolt, why because you just broke the rear-end.

IMHO, hands down, 4.10s are THE choice for an M6 car.

Again, I have no issues whatsoever. I had issues getting from 2nd to 3rd in high rpm shifts, but that was clutch hydraulics issues removed by completing the "drill mod" to the clutch master cylinder. Smooth as silk now.
I do not "bang" gears, in that I am forcing anything. I ocassionally do maximum acceleration through four gears. I can spin 2nd and chirp third (if I want to), but this is not the best method for maximum acceleration IMHO. Frankly, if I was going to drag race that much, I would convert to an A4 tranny system wit ha nice stall. That is much more consistant an less shock to the entire drive line.
I am running Penzoil SAE80w90 (API-GL5 Level performance) gear oil for my Eaton posi unit with the GM limited slip friction additive (1052358) or equivalent.

well it changed both ways after i put mine in. the driveablility changed in a positive way. well since its always dry out here heh.

The photo is a bit big, but you can see what the gears look like after 48,000 miles. Motive 4.10s on a Eaton posi. Like I mentioned in a prior post, I do NOT do high rpm launches. I have had a little whine since day one, but I expected some from a taller gear.
