Default Mobil 1 vs. "Dyno" for MN6

Can't decide between the Mobil 1 ATF, or "dyno-based" Dexron III. Any opinions? If I should go with the dyno oil, which brand works the best?
I've searched, but can't seem to find a definitive answer.
TIA

Actually Redline ATF will work the best.

When i bought my 99 SS with 28k on the clock, i drained the tranny and put mobil one synthetic atf in.. big difference.. then, 2 days ago, i drained that out and refilled it with Royal Purple Synchromax.. and again.. huge difference.. lower tranny noise, seems to go into gear easier at high rpms... i used to have trouble sometimes getting into 3rd racing.. now.. i dont seem to have any problems.. my vote goes to Royal Purple Sychromax.. i got mine from Thunder Racing.

I have read arguments in both directions. Against the use of synthetics is it is too slick, and the synchronizers are less effective. Since my experience from when I had a hard shifting transmission that had super slippery fluid [due to an additive] I am not in a hurry to try it again.

I use mineral oil because it is less stressed than crankcase oils, and it is inexpensive. Frequent fluid changes are much better than too few. I change it about once per year.

Do what you want to do, I have just not read enough positive feedback or had the experience that makes me hopeful that synthetic would make me happier with the performance of the transmission. I will also add that I can generally tell a difference when I replace the fluid. I hope it is due to it being clean and fresh.

What did GM use? I ask that because I know they use a synthetic oil in some of their transmissions, just donno which. Whatever they use it in, It's recommended for (at least some) Tremec transmissions. They call it Synchromesh and it's about $11 a quart lately.

I have heard of the Syncromesh before, but not on the LS1 boards. Anyone have any experience? I hate to order basic maintainance items such as plugs, oil, etc..... I run Mobil run in the motor and rear end, but I've heard too many stories of it being "too slippery" for the T-56. If Redline or Royal Purple is what is needed, then I guess I'll just have to order. I won't run RP in the motor after seeing a lot of oil analysis come back less desirable than Mobil 1, and Redline is just too expensive for someone who prefers more frequent oil changes. If anyone has experience with the Sycromesh, I'd love to hear about it. Also, any opinions on available Dexron III oils would be wonderful. Planning on doing all of this on Thursday.
In case anyone is wondering, I just picked up my '00 Black MN6 SS last Thursday!! After selling my 11sec GN and buying this, I am loving life! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
TIA

Decided on Amsoil. I know that I need the ATM 10W-30 motor oil, and ATF tranny fluid, but which gear lube do I need? Looking to order today.
Thanks!
