No big difference. I'd go 3.42.

I would agree, the slightly shorter 3:42s in an auto are real nice, the 3:23 is far from a slouch and still a good upgrade.

Money aside the 3:42 is a better proformer in that range of gearing.

I'd jump to a 3:73, but if your getting a used 10 bolt cheap get the 3:42.

I went from a 3.23 to a 3.42 after my 10 bolt blew up the 2nd time (lol) It dose pull a little bit harder and the gears are a little sorter but its not a big difference

I dropped half a second in the quarter going from 2.73's to 3.42's. Do the 3.42's.........there isn't any noticeable gas mileage difference.

Oh yeah just remember u have a 2nd carrier so when you buy the gears make sure its for ur carrier. As far as spacers u might need one.. When i installed my 3.73 i didnt use a space(shim) and man did they wine a lot so i went off and took the bearing from my 3.23 gears and used it on my 3.73 gears. Now they quiet and cant even hear them whine. As far as what else u will need u will need a pinon bearing if ur new gears dont come wit it but you can buy it at autozone for like 20 bucks unless u wnna replace all bearings then u will need a kit but I dont think its neccesary all i bought was the pinon bearing and thats it.
