I had mine installed at a shop, and when I went to pick up the car I was told that one of the problems they ran into with the install was that the drive shafts were too long. My mechanic had to cut over 1/4" off each to get them to fit properly. Moser's response, "it's possible we sent you the wrong axles, sorry".

Re: Moser quality??? My moser 12 bolt also had the bearings sticking out close to 1/8" on each side. The bearings were actually longer then the cut inside for them to fit. So far so good but I'm not real impressed with moser either. Nice heavy duty piece but I had to buy nuts for the backing plates and gring the end of the tubes for my abs sensor to clear.
Moser quality??? OK, here's the deal, I just got a Moser 9" and had the bearings pressed onto the axles. I went to install the axles, and they would not go in all the way. The bearing is sticking out about 1/16" on the driver's side and about 3/16" on the passenger side. I know it is going in all the way because I am getting some of the grease (assembly lube) on the end of the axle shaft. I can also hear it hit when it goes in. The bearings are pressed all the way to the shoulder on the axle, so that IS NOT the issue. I can put the short shaft on the opposite side and it slides all the way in (flush) with no problem, so I know it is not being stopped by the oil seal.
The only thing I can think of, is that I either got the wrong axles, or the tubes are too short.
Is this the kind of quality I should come to expect from Moser? I have not been able to call them yet because it is the weekend, but I will first thing in the morning. Has anyone else run into any problems like this? Any opinions appreciated.
