The B&M Shift Plus or any other electronic shift enhancement is not recommended...

Moving to Drivetrain.

Run, do not walk, to the nearest exit! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Unless it has been updated, that module resulted in the death of a couple tranny's about 2 years ago. If you want firmer shifts, buy a transgo kit, LS1 Edit or a HPP3.

The Shi*t Plus does NOTHING at WOT. It's only for partial throttle shifts. It is just two power (25 watt, I'd say) resistors, one lower (about 10 ohms), one higher (about 26 ohms), and a 3-way switch (10, off, 26).

It works by reducing the amount of current to the transmission's force motor - which is what controls line pressure. Less current, more pressure. The 10 ohm setting allows more current to 'leak' through the resistor, so it gives firmer shifts. The 26 ohm setting still allows current leak, but not as much. The force motor goes to full pressure at WOT anyway, so the electrical tomfoolery is overridden.

I bought one, many years ago, for my 94Z. I don't use it anymore, I got a real shift kit. I consider the Shi*t Plus as a wanna-be mod. It's a wanna-be shift kit, but it is NOT.

FWIW,

-Andrew
