...the old @ss end is about to go Tango Uniform.

I'm thinking about swapping out my p.o.s. stock Torsen for the SLP heavy duty unit & the 33 spline axles from Moser. <$800 vs >$2100-2400 for a 12 bolt.

I gotta figure the stock unit has lasted this long 'cause of the girdle (12k miles), but what is the reaonable % of strength vs the 2 choices listed above?

Okay, you bastards waited too long! Dialed in a few more rwhp yesterday on my timing tables and the diff said, "See ya!!" Parkland Towing's got a nice, shiny, new red International...

Anyways. I still need answers to the above.

And, could somebody explain splines to me? I'm gonna call Randy's R & P http://www.ring-pinion.com/home.shtml and ask them some stuff, but if anybody knows, feel free to chime in.

Anybody here running the Eaton w/ the stock 7.5"?

Everything I've seen has indicated that spending money (especially $800+) on the 7.5" is money you should have saved for the 12 bolt or 9". Yes, it will be stronger; however, I don't believe that those are the parts that often fail.

I agree with Matt. You'll break again and wish you had put the $800 into a 12 bolt.

Got a custom 12bolt w/ all kindsa bells & whistles comin' next week (Moser housing/yoke, Yukon gears & custom diff).
