all of a sudden it's hard to put into Reverse!
Joe
these trans dont like being shifted when cold! Try puting it in fourth gear and then try the reverser. What ever you do dont force it into gear. Sometimes try rocking the car with your body weight to get it to move a bit then try getting it into reverse. If that dont work, engage a forward gear and move the car a few inches.
These trans are tempermental finincky bitches, what can you do? Baby it. Yes, its ridiculous and unacceptable but thats just the way it is. Manhandling these trans will get you nowhere. Finesse is the key. Drive it like you dont use the clutch because alot of times the clutch is draggin.

FASTFLAMES: if none of that helps then you could have two problems.
1. During your install you pulled the reverse lock-out solenoid out of the transmission. This disconnects reverse but you can still force it in. It is on the drivers side of the tranny. There are two solenoids. Looking at the drivers side of the tranny, the left solenoid is the CAGS solenoid. The next one right of that is the reverse lock-out solenoid. Make sure it is making a good connection.
The other problem could be that you have stripped sychros and/or bearings.
Hope this helps. It works for me anyway.
