Rear End Whinning I just bought my 98 Z-28 A4. I'm pretty sure everything is stock, and the rear end is whinning pretty loud as I accelerate from a stop all the way till I let off the gas. So basically what I need info on is what will I need to fix the problem. And if I need new gears should I go with the 3.73's and what installation kit should I get. (where to get everything from) Thanks in advance.

Re: Rear End Whinning If the car IS completely stock(stock gears/carrier)and making a lot of noise then I would guess the rear is on its way out, or has been really beaten on. Most aftermarket rears or gears will make some noise. Its a trade off, more strength- more noise, or weaker and less noise. If you do plan on changing them out. I would get a 3000-3600 Yank stall converter, or Precision Industires Vigilante stall converter, tranny cooler, and 3.73 gears.

Re: Rear End Whinning Thanks for the help Mongoose I really appreciate. Thats what I was afraid of. So should I buy the thunder racing kit for 450 which will include everything or should I just buy everything seperate.

Re: Rear End Whinning Hi. I have a new performance shop in Ft. Wayne, In called Exotic Performance Plus. It is located at 2639 Goshen Road. We are a dealer for Moser Performance. Our shipping cost for there rear-end to our location is $50.00.
We also have a new Mustang 1750 chassis dyno with the eddy current option. This option allows us to have the owner of the car do 1/4 mile times and top end mph on our dyno. We have found with my brother's car that the 1/4 mile times are within one hundreth of a second of actual drag strip times.
