Default Those with t56 and 4.10...

I have a friend who wants 4.10s in a z28 w/t56. He just added a z06 cam and lts. Before all that he was hittin the rev lim in 3rd tryin not to shift again in the 1/4. I dont think 4.10s is a wise choice for that car. Anybody have any input. Will he end up shifting out of 3rd with the 4.10s. The rear is stock. 3.42 now. What gears do you recommend?

I haven't taken my car to the track yet, planning on going this month... I don't see a problem with goin into 4th in the 1/4, may pick up a couple MPH? The 4.10's help when you've got a bigger cam like mine to get off the line cause i've lost some bottom end torque with it.

i just bought a set of 4.10's, havnt switched over to them yet, but he is going to have to switch into fourth. I have the same mods, LT's and Lid, ported tb etc, but thats it. If he can drive/shift, he shouldnt have a problem with them.

I have 4.10's and i love them, i have 230 cam and 150 shot...yeah what he said if you can shift he will be alright....my 1-2 shift is really close! I have not ran my setup at the track yet...buiding up a 9" since i know my 10 bolt will shart itself all over the track.

that he will shift to 5th.. I doubt it but i dont know much about the 6spds.

4th gear at 6000 rpm the mph should be around 112-115 with 4.10's
but since he has a cam in it it can rev higher anyway so he should not have a problem. So 5th is not an option.

In 4th with 3.42's I go through the traps at approx 5000 rpm so even a stock car can benifit from 4.10's.

He should be at the end of 4th gear w/ 4.10's. I have my rev limit set at 6400 and I have trapped 112-114 without hitting the limiter in 4th gear on a 26" tire.

On my stock motor, lid, LT and Catback I could do 3rd gear to the 1/4 mile mark, now with 4'11's I go into 4th which is fine, thats the 1:1 ratio, just like auto cars in 3rd gear have. Your going to have 3 shifts.

The rev limiter should be at least 6500 due to the cam and better valvetrain and that gives you more room for increased MPH.

if you are setting the car up for the 1/4 you want to cross the stripe as close to the top of 4th as you can. as long as he has sticky tires it will make the car alot faster.

Here you go check for yourself. Input all info including tire size and rev limit and see what he will be going through the traps at.

+1 on that

Chances are if he just did a z06 cam, he's probably revving to 6500. Theres no way he's trapping 121 though so he'll be fine. If anything, non perfect driving will lower his MPH
