narrowed rear question...
Chris
My friend has a 12 bolt on his thirdgen and shortened his rear 15/16" of an inch to make it line up pefectly with the lip of the wheelwell and it looks really nice but even thought he ordered it that way from KTRE, he still had to grind off and re-weld a lot of his brackets
So to alleviate this problem for me, i'm just going to order a bare rearend with no brackets on it with the width i want and grind off and weld on all my brackets. It might take more time that way, but i probably would end up modifying it anyway *shrug*
There is a place in iowa that will sell you a 9" housing any width you want with moser axles, retainers and studs for $550. Buy a torque arm mount from Currie enterprises for $150 and re-use brackets from a junk rearend. As long as you can weld...you could come away with a 9" rear end for pretty cheap.
Figure $700 plus shipping and then minus what you get for a stock rearend and then plus a thirdmember.
