4:10s in a 10 bolt YES or NO
I have a 99 WS6 M6 and want 4:10s but dont have the $$$ for a 12 bolt. The car is my daily driver and I MIGHT see the track 1 or 2 times in a year. Mostly just for killin stangs and ricers. Good idea or bad???
I know I should have a 12bolt but I dont have the money yet.Ive been running 4.10s in my axle for a couple of years now.The car drives awsome and I just take it easy on the drag launches. maybe next year Ill get that 12bolt....
Go for it. You will absolutely LOVE the 4.10's. W/M6 trans & the big 6th gear, your highway mileage doesn't suffer at all, and you'll love the torque, also. Keep the sticky tire launches 3200 & below & you'll get the rear to live a fairly long life---axles may be the weak point. After 100 passes, the gears will start to get sharp & noisy. Then it's time to replace them, the carrier, and bearings. Get the T/A cover & stud kit & Moser axles, keep the tire size at 26", and you will have some fun on the street and at the track. Best wishes. WJ. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
