Default will any 9 in. work in my car???

i have a 99 z28, and my uncle said i can pull any 9 inch out of an old ford or something and put it in my car. is that true? im guessing it will fit, but i wont have traction control, but im not sure. any help would be awesome... thanks

you might have to shorten the rear and your gonna have to cut your brackets off your old rear and weld them on the 9"
