metal in tranny filter?
i have a yank converter and it cost almost $700 so i don't want to toss it. i cut open the old filter and there was some very small flakes of metal in it, less than 1/16" and very thin, one about every 1/2" to 1" apart.
there is a place in town that can cut open that converter, clean it, weld it back together and ballance it, they charge $175. i plan on geting this done because of the metal in the filter. my question.. are those flakes normal and nothing to worry about(don't clean the converter?) or yes they are a concern(definately clean the converter?)
thanks
