Problems with SPOHN TQ arm?
I never had KR till after I installed this unit the car is gettingdownright annoying to drive with it.
I have made exra room for the bolt that tends to hit the trans tunnel so that is totally clear. The noise is like a rattling/grinding feeling.
Anyone else had this problem?
How many people are running 10's with a stock TQ arm and not breaking tailshafts?
I am really thinking about trying a stock one again to see if my KR and rattling go away!
I have the standard one I think. Not the one for Grot headers. So I think it is the 405.
Durring normal accelration I do not hear/feel it much but deacceleration or off and on throttle it sounds like part of the car is falling apart. What could have been done wrong that would cause this?
Right now if the car is on the ground the pinion angle guage shows almost -2deg. That is if I stick the guage to the bottom of the Diff, where the TQ arm connects and read it from the drivers side rear tire the needle points at roughly 11:58 if the guage were a clock. That would be negative right?
Also, if your exhaust is within 1/2" of the crossmember, you may want to look at it closely. I had mine in there and the Y rattled at the farthest forward edge. Some intimitdation with a ballpene hammer may be required if that's the case. You'll be able to see the rattle marks if that's the case. I had all the same symptoms as far as hearing a rattle goes. Never heard it under accel or decel, just at idle speed.

I just looked at the pinion angle again (just the angle on the front of the Diff.) With my street tires on I have an angle of 0deg. When I have my slicks on it goes to -2deg.
So, if I want to get the true pinion angle I would measure my driveshaft angle, then measure my Diff angle (already got that). Then take the driveshaft angle and minus the pinion angle and that is my true angle? And that should be either 0deg or -2deg??
I hope you guys see this soon cuz I'm sitting in the garage with the car in the air and hitting F5 over and over looking for replies. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
