ls1 lt1 tranny the same?
Re: ls1 lt1 tranny the same? I think you can do it...but you'll need all parts from the later car. The big question is if you can get a flywheel that will let you put an ls1 clutch on an lt1....check with Centerforce for an adapter flywheel (not sure if the stock one will work or not). I suspect this may be possible, but it may be a lot of work.
My reasoning behind this statement is:
1.we know the whole drivetrain will swap, so it will fit the chassis.
2.we know that the bellhousing bolt pattern is the same (to bolt to the motor).
3.we know that the driveshaft, shifter, console etc will fit.
4.we may need to get hydraulics to clear the exhaust (not sure on that part).
5.we know that the pedals will fit (same chassis).
6.that leaves the flywheel and clutch, the LT1 version won't work. and I'm not sure about flywheel bolt patterns, clutch spacing etc.
I'd suspect it is possible....but it may still be expensive....
