Shifting difference in D and OD

Shifting difference in D and OD Is it normal for an A4 to have a big variation in WOT shift points from racing with the shifter in Drive and then having it in Overdrive? What would cause such a difference (600+rpms)?

Re: Shifting difference in D and OD Not an A4 guy, just passing on info from a friend ( "So Slow" on here ). His car would not shift into 3rd when left in D, but put it in OD and problem solved. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

Re: Shifting difference in D and OD Mine just "seems" like it shifts harder,
higher with the selector in D. It wouldn't
surprise me that some subroutine somewhere
is interpreting this as a "sport mode".
Although I wouldn't go so far as to claim
it.
Mine is a happy 1-2-3 in D.

I have experienced alot of oddities leaving it in 3rd but never a problem staying in OD
