lsd, posi or whatever.... My local mechanic said the thud i hear after driving for short time with long interval between driving id from a lsd or posi unit whatever you want to call it going out....
Should i replace it or just get a 12 bolt???
If i replace it what should i get???
My father who used to be really into cars, said i should try changing the fluid and it will cause the clutches to stop sticking.
is this true??? thanks

Re: lsd, posi or whatever.... mine is doing the same thing. I am looking into getting a 9 inch from speed inc on their 6 month no interest deal. I figure if it went out now with 2.73 gears and stock stall what will happen later, so i dont even want to bother with it.

Re: lsd, posi or whatever.... But yeah you should change the fluid and when you drain it check to see what else comes out with it. If metal shavings come out with it then you will be ready for the rearend to go. But if everything seems to be fine then changing the fluid should help the problem.
