Transmission SWAP
1999 Camaro SS--I know I have to get a new computer...what about the Fly Wheel, Transmission mount, Transmission Lines, Driveshaft, Reverse lockout, Skip Shift, etc. <img border="0" alt="[Banging Head]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_banghead.gif" />
1. Stock A4 Flexplate from a GM Dealer.
2. A Torque Converter (Lots of choices, depends on your goals).
3. New Transmission mount, depends on what torque arm you have there are a few different choices here.
4. You might need a new torque arm bushing.
5. I would buy a new energy suspension trans mount, like $36 or so.
6. I believe you will need a new drive shaft, not 100% sure. I have a TH400 and of course I needed one.
7. Transmission cooler, lines and fittings.
8. I would invest in a trans temp gauge as well.
9. If its a 4L60E, I would get a stock A4 style shifter, or maybe a B&M. I have a cheetah turbo action, but I have a 3 speed with a transbrake. The 4L60E is a stock style tranny, the stock parts work the best.
10. You will have to modify your center console for the shifter, unless you buy a new one from a A4 to go with the stock shifter, depends on what shifter you get.
11. New PCM of course.
12. Transmission oil. 1 Qt for the verter and about 4-5 for the tranny with a regular pan.
If the tranny is completely built, bellhouse to tailshaft thats about all you'll need.
Good Luck.
