Weird Noise
Weird Noise So I took my car to the track this weekend to see what it would run and when I was doing my burnout, I got this weird howling noise which seemed to be coming from the rear end. The car is a 97 Z28 A4 with 117k on it.The only thing I can think of is that it is just the limited slip getting wore out. Anyone have any ideas?
Its gearwhine if your car was making any kind of power you would have experainced this along time ago, also about 70% of people on here prob have it or have experianced it... its when the gear wares irreglarly and usualy high hp cars deal with it more pinion angle also...

Usualy when it whines its the gear....could be something up with the posi but ive never realy experianced anything except when mine broke it felt like the whole rearend was going to come lose when i made a left turn kinda like a loud pop bang and than it would jerk a lil def scary first thing after that i orderd my danas60 on the other hand me friend left it alone and his axle came out while driving at 45mph and we slid sideways on the bumper/rearend housinghe focked up his back left body panels and had to get all new fenders and a new bumper supports a new housing catback y pipe and the fuel lines where riped off the car and the gastank had a big dent in it.
Well i haven't had and pop bangs yet, just the whine when i do a burnout. If it is the gears, is it something i should have taken care of right away or is it something that will just be annoying? Money is kind of tight right now but if it is a big deal, then i will have to get it fixed.

Dont worry about it... IT may actuly eventualy go away or it could progressivly get worse but it isnt something your ever going to have to worry about breaking because of it, its just going to be annoying.
