Default T-10 Tranny Swap??

Has anyone swap to a Richmond T10 4-speed using Lakewood's Bellhousing? Does it use the factory slave cylinder? How does the shifter line up? Can it take hard shifts for racing? How much shorter it is compared to 4L60E or the T56?

My dad has a T10 in his 78 trans am. From what he says, the transmission is relatively weak. (case splits right down the middle). He's worrying about his transmission right now when only putting down about 450rwhp on spray. I'm pushing 100 more rwhp than him and am in no way concerned about my T56.

I can't see it being real good for racing. The throw on the shifters is real long, and I think adapting the LS1 clutch hydraulics to the T10 tranmission would end up being problematic. If I were going to swap out my T56 to another transmission specifically for racing, it would be a TH350 or TH400.

The only reason I asked is because I thought about getting my car ready to compete in NMCA Drag Radial Class which requires only 4 forward speed in a manual and clutch operated. A really good TH400 setup would cost twice as much. Just wanted to get some input on it though.
