Default Rear End is Humming/Whinning??

After I got home from the track a week ago, ive been hearing this humming/whinning sound coming from the rear end. It begins as I accel and doesnt stop to a decelerate. Do you think its the posi, bearings, or something else? Also the rear is completely stock with stock 3.23 gears.

Thanks,
Tom

how many miles on the car? It's a possibility that your bearings are bad. when was the last time you changed your rear fluid? and w what? you should have an auburn posi abd those tend to burnout as they have clutches.

I'll bet its your bearings. I had the same problem recently and the pinion teeth had broken off. Had it all fixed, quiet as a mouse now. Seems to be a common problem with these cars. Don't let it go too long without fixing as it will cost you more $$$ if you let it go too long.

Yea I think its the bearing too. Well ill save up and have the gears changed when there changing out the bearings. How much do they usually charge to change the bearings.

The car just turned 60k miles and I just changed the rear end fluid about 5 months ago. Im hoping its just the bearing and not the posi.

I paid about 850.00. That was at a dealership, parts and labor/tax.

I had a Dodge Dakota that had a bad pinion bearing and it sounded like loud tires going down the road. It cost me $150 labor to replace all of the bearings plus the price for the parts.
