thank you slowhawk. have you or anybody els heard of anyone breaking the 30 spline. im just a bolt on car and i dont want to loose to much horsepower due to the rear end swap. ive been told 30 spline is less weight then the 33 spline. so i wont lose as much HP. is this true?

Re: 12 bolt question, please help?
I have a 30 spline Moser. None of the bolts have ever backed off. I've got at least 100 5500 RPM+ dumps on it with no issues so far. In fact I broke a u-joint rather than the posi. I'm really pleased with it so far! The torque arm fits like a glove too. Just need to make some more room for it in the tunnel because the nodular housing is much larger than the 10 bolt (no duh!). So it will rub a little bit when the suspension travels.

Re: 12 bolt question, please help?
Just be aware that a 33 spline warranty covers a broken axle shaft and a 30 does not. That's the only major difference. So if you do find that power becomes contageous it's probably a very cheap $100 option long term. Otherwise, a 30 will hold up fine.
Also, make sure you get it from someone who will setup the rear good. My Moser setup howls so damn loud that I could win a DB Drag contest without turning the radio on. We are tearing this gear out and replacing it as well as setting it up so that it is damn close to silent. Just some thoughts.

Re: 12 bolt question, please help?
I have a Moser 12-bolt and I wish I would have bought a strange. Mine howls horribly and I just had it redone and it still howls. I had a really good shop do it so I don't know why it still does it. My bolts have backed out of the torque arm a few times now. I constantly have to tighten them, I even used long bolts, lock-tite, and lock washers. They stay tight longer but still back out. My buddy has a strange and runs 10.90's and you can't even here the rear end at all. Same size gear and everything, only difference is he has an automatic. I wish I would've gotten a Strange. Good luck.
