Default banging noise

my 99 camaro is making a banging noise from the rear when the tires spin what can it be

thats what i thought but a friend of mine said i had a broken axel im pretty sure its just wheel hope thaks

If you have the axle hopping severely
then the panhard mount point or some
other feature is probably hitting the
exhaust. Lots of closely-packed stuff
back there.

If the banging is low frequency and only
when you feel the axle hopping, then this
is likely. If the frequency goes up as
you start to roll and doesn't require
axle hop to appear, then this would be
more like a busted gear tooth (first
domino, rest falling soon).
