Default 9" Center Section Pull Question

Have not done this before.

Know that you need to pull the axles to get the center section out. How far do you need to pull the axles? Just a few inches (less than a foot)? Or all the way?

Stupid question, but if I have to pull the axles all the way, then my wife gives up her garage spot until I get the car put back together.

Just got my 94LS1 Z28 going. The 4.11 gears whine something bad and I'm going to have them checked locally.

Thanks in advance.

You'll only need to pull them a couple inches. You'll know when they've come out of the Posi/Spool...

Good luck.

Just pull'em out a foot, pull center & put axles back. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Digging up an old thread here. But do you have to remove the torque arm to remove the center section? Dumb question I know, but I am an hour away from my car at the moment and was curious.

The state inspectors here are a bunch of ******** and they said my band clamps for my exhaust always leak. So we have to weld the exhaust up everytime... I would say this will be the 4th time cutting off the exhaust this year... Im looking into getting a exhaust flange kit, so it unbolts instead of playing this game every time.

Dual exhaust under the axle. I may have to jack the car up to get enough clearance to take the bolts off.
