ned part numbers for strange 12 bolt axle seals and bearings
my right axle seal has started to leak. and think the bearing is starting to howl to.o. so I guess its time to replace the 2. of course im doing both sides. lol. do any of you guys have part numbers for the seals and bearings? the axles are 33 spline if it makes a differance. are the seals and bearing the same as a GM 12 bolt??? also do I have to order them from strange or would a parts store i.e ac delco, pep boys,fisher.. stock the parts? thanks

I'd call Strange and talk to them first. I spoke with them last week and got part numbers for the axles, bearings, etc. The lady I spoke with was pretty helpful and patient. You can buy directly from them as well.
I don't think you'll be able to cross-reference anything from another GM 12-bolt because the Strange F-Body 12-bolt uses pressed on bearings. I believe older GM 12-bolts use smaller axles and c-clips.

if it is the tapered style bearing, then its a Timken set 20. they are available at most Autozone stores. when re-installing these, be sure to apply a small amount of rtv sealer around the outside bearing surface of the housing end.

if you have a real Strange 12 bolt, it will have 9 inch type ends on it. these ends do not use c-clip eliminators. a regular 12 bolt will have c-clip axles with a bearing and seal presed into the axle tube. there are 2 different bearings that will fit into the Strange housings. one is a sealed bearing that has a o-ring around the outside of the bearing. this the Strange part #A1021. the other is a non-sealed type that uses tapered rollers and an outer seal cup as part of the assy. this is a Strange part #A1013 or Timken set 20. there may be a internal seal pressed into the housing end, also. the tapered style bearing uses this also. it is Strange part # A1013C, or Timken part #K523967.
most parts store will be able to interchange the Timken numbers to whatever brand they use. however, i suggest the Timken brand as they are usually the highest quality.
