Default New Driveshaft

Hey guys, quick question. With christmas coming up, i was planning on possibly getting an aluminum driveshaft to lessen to load on my stock 4l60e and 10-bolt. My question is though, if i get a get a stock length aftermarket driveshaft, will it still fit when i get an aftermarket 4l60e, but more importantly a 12-bolt? Just wondering if getting the driveshaft now is pointless considering I will be upgrading in about 6 months to a 12bolt/new 4l60e.

Yes, the same oem stock length driveshaft is used for a Moser 12 bolt and Moser 9 inch rear, so you'll be ready to go.

With the PST driveshaft I sell, you will need a Napa pn#240-0447X conversion U Joint until you get the new rear. Bob

I noticed on Speed Inc's website that they also have chrome moly nitrous driveshafts. I plan on spraying the car with a healthy dose of nitrous in the future. I didnt notice a chrome moly driveshaft for sale on your site. However, I was hoping you could maybe give me your un-biased opinion on what would be better for me? The chrome moly driveshaft is much cheaper as well.

I wouldn't recommend a chrome moly driveshaft for any street use. Bob

what about a carbon fiber one?

and does the Strange 12-bolt still use the stock-length driveshaft also?

priced even better if you buy one of my rearend packages! yes, the stock length driveshaft will work. the 9 inch is just a hair shorter than the 10 bolt.

Damn, 295 shipped is one hell of a deal. What are the downsides of going with a chrome moly driveshaft vs. an aluminum one?

Chromoly when pressed to the limit snaps instead of bending. My opinion is that it should not be used for a street driven car. Bob

What is your chrome moly driveshaft rated at horsepower wise?

rating is a b.s. sales point. theres so many different factors that can play into the "limit" of a driveshaft. I can tell you that it will live in a 3300-3500 pound car w/ 750rwhp. feel free to call Strange and ask them about your paticular application. 847-663-1701.

Thats good enough for me! Definately wont be pushing more than 600whp anyway (stock bottom end)...so the chrome moly driveshaft seemes to be the way to go. Cant beat that price either. I will be contacting you guys in a few weeks to place an order. Thanks!
