structurally, those are junk. For a high performance vehicle, I'd get a girdle type cover to reduce housing flex.

Thank you very much.. I was thinking I was going to hear it...

I like the way the cover looks, but I was concerned with the structural integrity of the product.. LOL...

so maybe I will not worry about my rear end cover until I get a new rear end.

thx nine

I agree.. I like the look of it.. It would make people double take to see if you were driving with your cover off. LOL...

But I dont like the part of it being made out of plastic..

From what I've read from other people's experience, the dye only lasts a few weeks, if that, before it turns regular old brown. Others have also said it gets dirty and cloudy and then there's no more novelty left. Get a cover with a support girdle for your bearing caps and your 10-bolt will appreciate you more.

Yep a guy I wheeled with last year bought one and had the same problem. Not too mention they are easy to crack if a rock or something hits it. He learned that the hard way. A waste if you ask me. Plus, if you crack it and fluid leaks out.....you have a problem unless you notice very quick. I know you don't wheel your f-body, but things can still happen.

Thanks for the input from you guys knowing and hearing of this.
I could totally see this cover fogging up really quick. That is why I was trying to get some input on this.. I knew you would be taking the cracking issue also with replacing a metal cover with a plastic one...

I am looking into the girdle one for the 10 bolt.
not too cheap.

I had one on my bagged Silverado. The fluid stained it and it looked like crap after a while. Then it started to look all hazed from the heat. . . . and then cracked. Dont get it

Yeah, you guys have already convinced me to not get it..
Especially when I started thinking of the N2O I run, and how I am going
to be running the hell out of the car next year.. Better off to get somehting that will hold up.

I have them on a show truck, but the rear is spotlessly clean on the inside & it gets used only occasionally. Looks cool, but I would not use it in a performance application.

Besides it will get scratched/broken when your stock rear explodes at the track.

Save all your cover/gear money towards a good rearend... it will be well spent.

the only way i would use that kind of cover is if i had a 100% show car, and it was on a 12 bolt that i sold my kidney to get, and along with showing off the racing stripes on my ring gear
