Burning Smell

Burning Smell 2002 WS6 Trans Am w/ 2000 miles....only mod so far is an airlid.
The other day I revved the engine to about 4000 RPM in first gear and slowly let out on the clutch. I kind of hopped (Traction Control was on) and drove off. I stopped before I got to 2nd and parked it. I noticed a really bad burning smell which I thought was the tires at first. I think it was the clutch. I smelled it the next time I drove. This is my first standard. Did I hurt it?

Re: Burning Smell You slipped the clutch, its probably got a little burn mark on it now...I would rev it a little less, and figure out where the clutch engages...you don't need to give that much gas, just release the pedal slowly with little rpms, but if go too low you will kill the car... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
