hmmm weird

Default hmmm weird

So when i got my car I thought it was a WS6 but later found out it was a clone... Ne ways about a month ago my car was in the shop and they printed me off a receipt and it had all the codes and factory options my car came with on their, and it said it had a a4.. So i just thought that the guy before swapped the trannys... Buttt if in fact my car was an auto in the beginning like the code says then there is no was i would have 3.42's right? So I just went out to my car to check the door codes and sure enough its shows gu6, mean 3.42 right? man i am confused...

dealer paperwork could be wrong or the door tag could be wrong, which is not probable. one way to find out for sure is to open the cover and count the teeth.

was the door changed??? maybe its the wrong sticker on it, I've seen that
more than a few times.

You dont have to count the teeth, there should be a stamp on the Ring gear, that will tell you either a number or a ratio, you can then look it up on the GM site

yeah i will do that when I get a chance, and the door thing seems very likely, except if he were going to change the door to get different codes, you would think he would get one that has the ws6 code also, Cuz mine doesn't.

Put the *** end up on jacks and spin the rear wheels. Count how many times the wheels spin for one rotation of the driveshaft. If they turn 3.4ish, it's a 3.42. Don't have to pull the cover off...

Other way around... count how many times the shaft spins for one wheel rotation...
