Stall?

Default Stall?

I have a 95 Formula A4 with stock 3.23s. I have Moser 3.73s waiting for me to put in and was wondering if I should go with a stall. I have full bolt ons, planning on doing a complete motor rebuild 355 with a dry shot in the near future. Not sure how that affects what stall i pick. Should I wait until I choose a cam for the rebuild to buy a converter that matches its power curve? Any help would be appreciated.

It is hard to pick a stall. A 3500 stall behind a weak engine is not going to stall as high as it would in an engine with more power. With nitrous I would spend the money for a triple disc, and you will also want a good tranny cooler.

I went with Edge converters and he custom built one to my cars specs(as he does all of his stall converters). I have a full bolt on LT1 with a 125 wet shot(rwhp) and am running A Moser 12 bolt from EPP with 3.73's . The stall Andre at Edge built for me stalls around 3300 rpm and still has good manners in town. I would give him a call and see what he recommends.

It has alot to do with what you use your car for. How streetable you want your car. If you're more into drag racing, then a high stall converter is what you would look into. For streetability, I would just stick w/ 2800-3200 rpm stall. Drag racing,3500rpm and up.Good luck..

Make sure you buy the right stall the first time. It's no fun pulling a tranny when you could have done it right the first time. I wouldn't go with anything less than a 3800. It's plenty streetable.
