Tranny Problems 2nd to 3rd at WOT

Tranny Problems 2nd to 3rd at WOT Well I had some peoblems with my 98 Z28 Auto shifting from 2nd to 3rd @ WOT. Well after about $2,000 later "New Tranny, Computer Flashed, New TPS sensor and a Fuel pump" the car is still not wanting to shift from 2nd to 3rd. It all started to do it about OCT. WTF could it be???

It wont go past 75mph and then the speedo goes down and if I am still floored, the speedo will go back down to 50mph and the tranny will go into neutral.. I am sick of the guy that worked on it now. Re: Tranny Problems 2nd to 3rd at WOT Well this is some day. Ok we swapped the Speed Sensor out and the car is shifting perfect. It was a new tranny so the Speed Sensor was I guess bad though. Me and the mechanic took it for a spin and Walla, its shift great!!! NO REV.. He said that the one that is in there now was from my old tranny.. Anyone know why that would happen?

Re: Tranny Problems 2nd to 3rd at WOT When i put my 4l60E in my project, i experienced almos the same thing. i couldn't get the trans to shift and autotap reported crazy mph's. replaced the vss and everything was fine.
the pcm relies on the vss to shift correctly, if it doesn't know the speed, it can't shift right.

Re: Tranny Problems 2nd to 3rd at WOT Thanks for the update. I am having the same problem now. I had a m6, then put a a4 in it out of a wrecked car. I had the tranny rebuilt and all the tq management taken out with ls1-edit. I still have a hesitation going into 3rd. I'm going to try that. Thanks...

Re: Tranny Problems 2nd to 3rd at WOT I think that we miss the small things. took 2 min to change it. LOL I have almost 96,000 miles on my 98. I have driven everywhere. I didnt know that a speed sensor would go out!! Put this one on the record books!!
Re: Tranny Problems 2nd to 3rd at WOT I have my fingures crossed that mine is only a 2 min change too. With all the symptoms mine has it looked like an electrical problem not a internal problem. I'll post the results after the change. Thanks for the help.
