Bent shiftfork?

What kind of shifter are you using and are you using the stops on that shifter?
If you are an aggressive shifter I recommend backing off the stops from now on. The same thing has happened to me and plenty of friends of mine.
I have a T56 in my 67 camaro and have about 30 passes on with NO troubles at all now (running mid to low 10's). Before I might be able to get 7 - 10 passes before it started acting up.
Here is what happens the 3-4 shift fork is not as strong as the 1-2 shift fork because the 1-2 gears on the main shaft is bigger than the 3-4 gears so hence there is a bigger shift fork on the 1-2 gears. After banging gears for a while the 3-4 shift fork will bend or move around a bit over time causing grinding, syncro slider will not engage on the clutching teeth all the way because of shift stops on the shifter.
My suggestion would be to either replace the 3-4 shift fork with the viper steel 3-4 shift fork. If you do have the shifter stops remove or back off.
Hope that helps
Good luck,
Sean
