Ok, looks to be indeed an Auburn. Is this model Auburn better than a stock Zexel? Thanks, D

It's the OEM Auburn. GM switched to the Zexel/Torsen sometime durring the 98 model year. What is the build date on your car?

Maybe my info on when GM switched to the Z/T is wrong. That is a really late build 98 still using the OEM Auburn. Thanks for that info.

I'm pretty sure that's an Auburn because I've been playing with the internals of a Torsen differential lately, and it uses helical gears not springs.

It's a Auburn Cone type. 98's came with Auburns
I know it was a SLP option, but I have a 98 also with no refer. to the Auburn either. I think these were installed by GM since it's not on the SLP Sticker.
