Bad clunk from rear

Bad clunk from rear My rear end just started this weird clunking noise. If you are driving it normal down the road and drive around corners it is fine. When you are at a slow roll (about 10 mph or so)and turn to the left their is a loud clunking noise and vibration as if their was a tooth missing. If you turn it to the right there is no problem, it is only when you turn to the left. I tried to listen while turning but can't figure exactly where the sound is coming from. I haven't taken the cover off yet. I was trying to get some ideas first.

Re: Bad clunk from rear Yes, I race it as much as possible at the track every weekend or at least so playing around on the street. But I was not racing it at the time it started the noise. Last time I had my rear gear changed from breaking 5 teeth off, the guy who puts my gears in said the diff. looked like it had alot of wear but to leave it alone till it went out.

Re: Bad clunk from rear Pinion angle will create severe driveline bind and you'll feel it at all times. It might clunk if its wrong and you get some serious suspension travel as well.
More than likely it's the Torsen unit itself. Mine did this to me, it made some seriously loud noises in turns. I'd pull the cover and you can tell instantly what it is, rather than guessing and possibly breaking it even worse.
