Default New Gears Gear Oil?

I got my rear back in the car today after i just installed new 4:10s It is a Torsen carrier, and I have royal purple and the GM additive. But I was just gonna get some regular gear oil to run around for a little to wear them in, then add the RP and additive. My question is should i get another additive and add that with the regular gear oil for the wear in, or just run regular oil. Then after the wear in add my RP and addivitive. thanks fellas

If you run royal purple you do not need the additive.

For new gears you should run regular gear oil no additive for 500 miles, Performing at least 3 heat quenching cycles and takeing it easy varying your speed. After the 500 mile break in, change the oil to royal purple and you will not need the posi additive.

Aftetr the break in, there is no match for Schaefers #267, 80W-90. Go to BITOG web site where you can see for yourself.
