speed/power shifting question???

speed/power shifting question??? Is it bad on the trans??? and if so how bad, will i end up blowing my trans. and all of you with m6's do you all do it when you go to the track??? i just learned the other day. WOW! big difference... my rpm's dont drop like at all between shifts, and i thought i shifted fast. its like a whole new car, def. faster.
Re: speed/power shifting question??? Power shifting is hard on parts. The T-56 trannies in the F-bodies will take a fair amount of abuse from a stock motor on street tires. I't when you add hp and sticky tires that things can get ugly. You will be much harder on clutches this way (powershifting) and u-joints, and rear axles (ring and pinion, etc). Eventually, after enough abuse and expecially if you add horsepower, something will break. You can twist input shafts, bend shift forks, break input bearing retainers in the trans, twist driveshafts, snap u-joints, etc. Anyway....it's not "good" for the car, but you'll probably get away with it for a good while before anything breaks, but when it does, it is most likely going to be expensive.
