got a set 4.10s off a 00 camaro,is it ok to use the same pinion bearing,{4-5xxx miles},is reshiming needed for my 98 camaro?

I would replace the pinion bearing.

And yes the rear end will need to be reshimmed again.

the bearing is probably fine since it was replaced but since you're in there you should just get the complete install kit and do all of it. Normally don't need to change the shims on the pinion but sometimes it's needed. Definately will have to reshim the carrier though

you should start with the original pinion shim from your rear end, then check your pinion depth and adjust from there
