Default Will gears help with "chugging"????

hey guys... i recently became a new owner to a fast F-body

Basically, I just got a new engine and mods that put me at 446rwhp/416rwtq...

i've got my stock 10 bolt and stock 3.42's in my M6

When I'm putting around, doing between 5-20 mph I get a "chugging".... basically the engine/tranny/rearend all try to match the surging of the cam... if that makes any sense...

Will different gears help with the low end chugging when driving slow around town? What do you guys recommend?

I don't take this car to the track... or at least EXTREMELY minimal... it's been at the track a total of twice and i've had the car since '02 so you get my point...

I'm a student on a low budget, so a new rearend is not an option, at least right now...

but, I may be able to swing a set of gears if they help my DD with the street manners.... right now it's just really not to fun to drive anymore

i'm thinking maybe bumping it up to 3.73's... but don't know if that's my best choice... also i'd like to save what fuel mileage i have left at this point LOL if possible...

Try getting it tuned at ADS. I dont know of anyone in Suprise that does tuning. It is in Chandler. They are supposed to be pretty good at it.

I can't say anyone in here is going to tell you to put a higher numerical gear in a 10 bolt with that hp level on a m6 unless you plan on babying it.

But, how would gears reduce the effect of surging?

I will say, I am a pretty conservative driver... i do baby it a lot... and if I do get on it, it's usually while i'm already on a roll.

as far as asking how gears would help me out...? I dunno, that's why i'm asking

i dont think gears will help much, so save that cash for a 9"..... what you really need is a stalled auto tranny
