Strange 12 bolt question

Strange 12 bolt question
When did Strange start using 3.00" tubes on their 12 bolts? I measured the tubes on mine today and they were 2.625".
I found some older posts on here that talked about them being close to stock diameter, but now I see Strange lists them at 3.00".
Were the older versions with the 2.625" tubes known for having any problems, or was the change simply made for extra insurance?

They might have been backin the day but Strange is most likely going to be the only person that can answer that question for sure. Everything I have ever seen for the last 16 years has been 3".

Yeah, I guess i'll have to call them back and ask somebody who has been there for a while. I found a couple of old posts that say their 12-bolts have 2-5/8", which is what mine has. I think mine was put in the car in 2003-2004 from what I remember seeing on the ring gear last time I had the cover off. I guess they changed them somewhere between 2004-2005.
