3.73 questions Hey Guys this is my first post but im not new to ls1's. I just got my Richmond 3.73s installed they dont whine at all. But since they have been in my shifts are feelin a lil weird and it feels like im not stayin in first that long. Just wonderin what u guys think and thanks for the info.

Re: 3.73 questions That is very true. I had my 3.73's installed last week. You go through the gears alot quicker. Not as extreme as 4.10's but they go faster. While driving through the city at about 35-40 mph with the 3.42's I would put it in 4th, RPM's would be lower than 2000 and no drone (I have the loudmouth). But now, I have to put it in 5th to stay under 2000 and no drone. The gears are great though!! Car is much more alive!! Good luck with them bro. Welcome to the boards!

Re: 3.73 questions so my problem is not really a problem and is pretty normal for a gear change and are there neways that i could get my shifts like they were with the stock 273s

Re: 3.73 questions Sorry guys, I have an M6, can't really help out too much more. That's just my experience with them. I'm sure it's pretty much the same with the A4's also though. Any A4 guys like to chime in here and help out????

Re: 3.73 questions yea man the weird shifting is at normal drivin and when i gas it and it drops into tha passing gear it dosent stayin tha passing gear long enough and when i have it about 50-75 precent throttle on take offs it wants to shift to second quite fast. also yall guys with tha a4s what are yalls rpms at 30, 50, 60, 70 thanks for all tha info

Re: 3.73 questions I rescently had my 2.73's taken out and put 3.73's in. My shifts were really messed up til I got a Predator. Now it shift just fine but my speedo is still 5-10 mph off even with my comp change to 3.73 gears. You car is going to shift alot faster when you change the gears, when I had my 2.73's my car shifted out of 1st at 60mph now it shift out at like 45. If you cant get you shifts right with the hpp3 you need to take it to a shop with ls1 edit and have them do it for you or buy a Predator.

I went fro 3.23 to 3.73, repro the Speedo ... Speedo was accurate but less than WOT it shifted like a Diesel Truck. ... WOT shifts use rpm inputs ... < Wot shifts use MPH inputs.
The spread % for 3.23 - 3.73 is something like 15.5% ... I repro the entire normal shift table by 15.5% and this thing Rocks on the streets.
Something Weird: I increased the MPH data for the shift table ... I Duno what's up with that!

Re: 3.73 questions For the A-3 drivers you must edit the shift points in order for the it to act right. You either need to take it to a dyno and have them set you up or get LS1 edit and play with it. You won't be happy or realize the true advantanges of the gear change until you do.
