I'm on my way to a moderately modified ride. End goal is approximately 380-390 rwhp with headers, cam, and other bolt-ons.
The question is, with a TA girdle and never using more than drag radials on occassional trips to the track, how long can I expect the 4.10s to hold up?
On an M6, you could break them on the first pass with too agressive a clutch dump. You can get pretty good life from them if you are smooth, avoid wheel hop, and you settle for mid - high 1.8s in your 60'.
I've been able to spin 1.99 in a 60' on stock 3.42, 6M on Futura tires. average is 2.00-10. To tell u the truth, I've done alot of investigating into this. the 4.10's pinion and teeth for the 7.5 is way too small. after buying gears, install kit, professionally installed ur looking at about 800-1000. It is ALOT of work to put new gears into the 7.5, ask anyone that knows. If u do have an auto, it will last u longer than a stick. unless u have a good size stall then ur just as willing to bust ur rear as a 6M car. save up a lil more money and get that damn 7.5 replaced like I am. 8.8 here I come <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Boy, your shops are expensive. Here in Cali, a local shop quoted me $425 installed, and that is including the price of the gears.
