Hurst Shifter, reverse in a pain

'02 LS1 with a Hurst shifter from the factory is a real pain in the *** putting it into reverse. Any help or thoughts would be great.

I really have no idea. I've never had a problem with mine unless it's really cold out.

Mine is the same on my 02 Z06 Corvette. I have the stock shifter and when you put it in reverse it dosen't go all the way in and when you let off the clutch it grinds. My 01 ss does the same thing I have found if you put in the clutch stick it in 1st then go to reverse and it will go right in,otherwise it seems a little hard to go in reverse.It will go in without doing that but is kind of hard to get in.

edss01 has it nailed. I have to do this at least a few times a week to get it into reverse smoothly. And I'm having more and more trouble getting it into 1st, now. It seems when I first got the car (10K miles now) I had to only rev the engine or drop it into second first to get it into first once in a while, now I have to do it all the time. Even then I have to give it a little harder push to get in gear. Maybe my clutch is going... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" />
