Default Driveshaft length with a 9" rear?

When running a 9" in a 4th gen, does the driveshaft need to be shortened? I know this is the case with a 12-bolt.

No shortening necessary. I have plenty of room with mine.

My stock length driveshaft would 'fit' but I think it was ramming up against the tailshaft of the T56 which would lock up the shifting mechanisms. I had 2 trannies fail like this. After I replaced my driveshaft with a shorter driveshaft I have yet to hurt a T-56

In order to install my stocker I had to pull the bearing caps to clear the yoke. Now I don't
