Question Qustion on 10 bolts

How similar are the LS1 & LT1 F-Body 10 Bolts? And what are the differences?

I'm looking at a 95 Z28 Convertable and part of the deal was that he would be taking the 12 bolt out and putting a rebuilt 10 bolt back in it. Hes going to be putting the 12 bolt into his 98/99 Z28.

I was just wondering how similar they were and if the LS1 F-body 10 bolt was any better.

Thanks,
- Mike

If its an A4 car, you'll be ok with the 10 bolt, but if its an M6, its just a matter of time, unless you don't beat on it AT ALL (which never happens lol), then you should be fine.

You should be good to go, but like i said, IF you plan on a beefier rear in the near future, don't put any $$$ in the 10 bolt, now if you just plan on bolt-ons & very little raceing or track time, you'll be fine with that 10 bolt for along time (considering its in good shape), even with nitto's or MT Radials, the shock factor goes way down with an auto car vs a stick, so even a gear change wouldn't hurt with the A4.

Awesome .

I think its gonna have 3.42's in it, and its was just rebuilt last week. I might make 1 pass down the track with it just to see what it can do. Probibly a mid - low 14?

Thanks for the info!
