Traction Control
control, to the point of making dummy loads
to keep the throttle adjuster out of the
picture while keeping the brake apply function
intact. I thought that would be a bonus. One
pass at the track showed me that was wrong.
The problem is that the TCS doesn't want the rear
wheels to spin relative to each other (so far
so good) but it also doesn't like them spinning
relative to the front.
So what do you get, without the throttle action
but with the rest of the system active? You get
a real nasty sound as the rear brakes do a full
apply against WOT engine output, the car goes
real slow and makes a lot of noise, and you get
a 16.x ET. Heh. That was after the TCS gave up
at about 10 seconds (half track) and finally let me go.
If you pull the fuse you will get the ASR OFF
light and the traction control will be out.
I haven't pulled the accelerator control "brain"
yet to see how that plays, but it's coming. What
I want to do is find a switch point that will
keep ASR off but also the little "ASR OFF" light
off. Then I'll be happy.
ASR has three layers:
1) spark retard <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_images/icons/tongue.gif" />
2) throttle relax <img border="0" alt="[barf]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_barf.gif" />
3) brake apply <img border="0" alt="[bang head]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_banghead.gif" />
<strong> I though i remember reading in Hot Rod that they "tuned" the TCS on the SAMS camaro so that it would just haze the tires coming off the line. It was several years ago maybe their first article on the SAMS car. Does anyone know if the SLP - TCS - control reversal module turns that damn TCS off lite - off??? <img border="0" alt="[burn out]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_burnout.gif" /> </strong></font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I have the SLP TCS module and it doesn't turn the light off. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="gr_sad.gif" />
