17" vs 18" wheels

17" vs 18" wheels I have camaro 98/M6 my mods in sig!! my wheels is ZR1 the front 17/275/40 the rear 17/315/35 i change it with C5 01 wheels the front 17 and the rear 18/275/40 the question is!
What will happen at my RPM and distance, weight did it different or same?
Note: i want it for street racing about 800m

Re: 17" vs 18" wheels with tires that r about an inch taller, ur car will think u have 3.59 gears in it now... ur rpm's will be about 4% lower at any speed... also be sure to adjust ur LS1 edit with the new tire size: 26.66" vs the 25.68" of ur 315's... also, u have LS1 edit listed twice in ur sig...

If i adjust my new tire size with the ls1-edit the RPM will be good or i will be about 4% lower at any speed ?
It's a good idea to change my 18" tire to 16" or not ?

Re: 17" vs 18" wheels adjusting the computer will keep your speedometer reading correctly, but your rpm's will be lower... like if u had 3.59 gears, instead of 3.73's... u might want to change the back tires to a 285/35x18, which is 25.85" tall, or only about 1% different, equaling about 3.69 gears

Re: 17" vs 18" wheels it all depends on how hard u need to launch in that race, it sounds like a long race, so topend may be more important... i'd stay with the 18's, and if u spin too hard off the line, then change them...
