anybody out there still have KTRE 12-bolt???
I understand the KTRE is a designed after the standard GM C 8.875" car 12-bolt, found in 65-72 GM cars, especially chevrolets.
Here's my question...I was about to go to 4.10s but realized I don't know if the current 3.73 is a 3 series or 4 series carrier. Now...I've always thought that if 3.xx gear it would be a 3 series carrier despite some 4.10s made to swap out w/ a 3 series carrier.
I learned yesterday that Richmond makes 3.73s and 4.10s for 3 AND 4 series carriers.
So...wonder whats in the KTRE of mine that came w/ 3.73s???
anybody know?

Take a look at the numbers stamped on the ring gear and post them up. Most gear manufactures stamp a part number that can be used to identify which ratio and which series gear it is.
