10 bolt takes a dump again!
I broke my 4.10 gears a few months back on the street and was pretty disappointed, but decided to revive it and still use the stock axle. Well, I was at the track and made a couple of decent passes on some ET Streets (~1.75 60'), but wanted to break into the 11s...Pass #3 I launched at ~4000 rpm and bang. Car moved about 6". The track guys were just glad I didnt leak fluid all over the track. I could immediately tell the driver's side axle had broken. Took me 8 hrs to get a trailer lined up and actually get it home I absolutely hate this freakin axle... Just thought I'd share this fun.

Yep... definitely 12 bolt time with those mods. 4.10s in a 10 bolt are pretty iffy when coupled with just some bolt ons, let alone heads/cam and an aftermarket clutch.

Dude...why bother even trying to fix a 10 bolt. THEY SUCK! Plain and simple. I grenaded my 10 bolt on the freeway speed shifting to 4th with bald F1s. I had it rebuilt with SLP gears and a take-off Torsen so the car could be driven until I could take it to Mikey at Rapid Motorsports for the 12 bolt. In my opinion it should have been a crime for GM to use a 10 bolt in the LS1/LT1 cars.

9" !! I had too much air in my ET Streets this weekend at Epping and bounced HARD off the line and wheelhopped, absolutely no problem just pedaled until it hooked.
10 Bolt would have disintegrated on the spot!!!
